Alga Crater, Mars
Own a piece of Mars.
Choose a specific 64-meter square of real Martian ground — real coordinates, real elevation, a place you can point to on a map. Mars Territory signs a Quit Claim Deed assigning you whatever claim it holds in that ground today, and any claim it ever acquires.
It is not land title; nobody can sell that for Mars. It is a recorded, verifiable assignment of every claim we hold or ever will.
247 of the 256 parcels in Block 1-3 are available today. Parcels are 50.00 USD, and 10% of the price goes to the Mars Territory Trust.
What you are actually buying
The claim
Mars Territory LLC and the Mars Territory Irrevocable Trust sign a Quit Claim Deed assigning you their present claims in your parcel, and any claim either of them ever acquires in it. If a claim to Martian land ever reaches them — by treaty, legislation, settlement, or a route nobody has thought of yet — it attaches to your parcel automatically. No new paperwork, no further payment, nothing for you to do.
The honest part
Nobody on Earth can sell governmental or internationally recognized title to Mars today, and we claim no sovereignty over any part of it. The deed assigns our claims, whatever they turn out to be worth. The chance they come to mean more is very small, and no one can honestly put a number on it. What you hold is a real position in that possibility, kept in a record built to outlast the website that sold it.
Since 2007
Mars Territory has sold Mars ownership experiences since 2007: quit claims and virtual property in a Google Earth overlay then, and now a ledger built on ground mapped from orbit.
What a parcel comes with
-
A real place
A 64-meter square of Alga Crater floor, mapped from HiRISE orbital imagery, with 10 meters of shared ground between you and each neighbor — community space that is never sold.
-
A permanent record
An identity that never changes, a public page at a stable address, and a history that is only ever added to — independent of any game, map, or payment provider.
-
A verifiable deed
A printable Quit Claim Deed that anyone can check by its verification code, with no account and no need to ask us.
-
The future-claims promise
The deed covers claims we acquire later, not only the ones we hold now. That promise is in the deed itself, so it does not depend on this website staying up.
Walk your parcel
Every parcel's page has a 3D view of its ground, built from the survey's real elevation. Click in and walk it.
A Roblox game on these same parcels is under development, so the square you hold is the square you will walk there too. A game can make your parcel visible; the Ledger is what makes it yours.
The 10%
Ten cents of every dollar Mars Territory receives goes to an irrevocable trust that can only pay out to organizations advancing Mars exploration and settlement. Money that goes in cannot come back to us. The Trust page names the beneficiary and shows what is in the account.
