Walk it

Drawing the ground from the survey…

Ground height calculated from pictures taken by the HiRISE camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Orbital image is one of these.

Getting around the 3D view

Touch controls: Use the joystick to walk. Drag across the scene to look around.

Keyboard and mouse: Click the ground first. Walk with W A S D or the arrow keys, turn with Q and E, and press R to switch between walking and jogging. Drag to look around and scroll to zoom.

Finding your way: The compass runs across the top. The corner readout shows which parcel you're standing on, who holds it, and your position in meters east and north of the block's center. Use the button to show the block's orbital image on the ground.

Reading the fences: Fence colors mark parcels as Available, Held, or Mars Territory Held. The parcel this page is about has a taller, brighter fence. The ground between fences is shared and never sold.

Multiplayer Mars Territory games are planned for these same parcels, so the parcel you hold is part of the map. They're in development, with no launch date yet.

Sample Quit Claim Deed, with a placeholder name and code

Buy it and your Quit Claim Deed assigns you every claim Mars Territory and its Trust hold in this parcel, and any they ever get.

It's not a government or internationally recognized title.

Buying this parcel

  1. Choose a parcel — walk it in 3D, and read what its deed assigns and what it doesn't.
  2. Check out — we hold the parcel for you while you pay through our payment provider's secure checkout. Mars Territory never sees your card.
  3. The parcel is recorded to you when the payment clears. The Ledger lists you as its holder, 10% of the price goes to the Mars Territory Trust, and your holder account is set up under your checkout email.
  4. Your Quit Claim Deed is issued once both grantors have executed it through authorized representatives. You'll hear when it's ready, and it carries a verification code anyone can check.

On this test site

Nothing is sold here. Testers hold parcels instead: hold this one and you will be added to the Mars Territory testers' Discord, and this page will carry your record of it.

Holding as a tester records no payment and makes no claim on your behalf. Mars Territory can release the parcel back to the catalog when the test is over.

What the Quit Claim Deed assigns, and what it doesn't

What it assigns

The Quit Claim Deed assigns you the grantors' present and future claims in the ground it describes: this parcel, inside the corners of its accepted boundary. The assignment is recorded in the Mars Territory Ledger.

What it doesn't convey

Neither the deed nor the Ledger represents governmental or internationally recognized real-property title. It is not land title, and it is not evidence of land title.
